Ships & Shuttles
Fires of Hina features a range of ships from small life pods and rugged planetary shuttles (Ewok, Mozzie, Volans) to heavily armed ships (Youxia, Pilbara) and corporate war ships (New Frontier). Together they reflect the story’s themes of survival, corporate exploitation, and guerrilla resistance — contrasting independent explorers’ multipurpose craft with Cutten’s militarized fleets.
Mai’s Ships
S/C Youxia
Larger, faster ship for interplanetary travel. Agile in combat, capable of outmaneuvering Cutten’s heavy shuttles. Armed with turrets (mostly for deterrence), carries life pods, provisions, and a cargo bay. Notorious for Mai blasting classic rock songs (e.g., Livin’ on a Prayer, Lyin’ Eyes) during intense maneuvers.
Ewok
Small, versatile shuttle used for planetary landings and short-range travel. Used in raids and rescues around Thalassa and Hina, including battles with Cutten’s forces
Orion’s Ships
S/C Pilbara
Stalwart bioprospecting ship, spacious but crew-manageable. Equipped with a biotech laboratory, submersibles, AUVs, drones, environmental sensors, and bow cannons. Armed and designed for independence in hostile frontiers
Volans
Brand-new, amphibious shuttle-submersible designed specifically for Thalassa. Built to reach abyssal plains and hydrothermal vents up to 15,000 ft deep
Mozzie
Orion’s reliable, fast, fly-like shuttle. Maneuverable, amphibious, and capable of shallow underwater dives (~1,000 ft)
Cutten’s Ships
S/C New Frontier
Large, heavily armed corporate carrier ship to deploy mercenaries in shuttles. Used to capture Nesoi with manta subs and nets, transport crews, and engage in combat
