Clan Habitats
Icehold: home of the bellowing M’sana. Their deep harmonic songs echo across the polar seas, celebrating blinker schools and spiral melodies. Their essence is harmony in the cold extremes.
Windhollow: high refuge open to the stars, their songs rejoicing in the wind and cosmic connections. Their essence is compassion and inspiration, linked to cycle marks and star wisdom. The legendary matriarch Dreamwind is tied to this clan.
Riverhaven: refuge of the N’mani, born generations after the Great Silence during the Starborn trials. Their sagas are tied to spears (giant guardians) and wisdom flowing along river paths to the deep sands, where prey was abundant. Their essence is wisdom shared with all clans.
Swellhaven: songs celebrate waves and wiggles, reflecting generosity and the bounty of the seas. They are remembered through the sagas of Eldertide, who mastered swell hunting and discovered rich shoal feeding grounds.
Tidebloom: ballads of sand and wigglets, evoking serenity and tranquility. Their songs create a sense of serenity and continuity, grounding the clans in memory and ancestral connection
Shadowhaven: the primordial and most sacred grotto. Founded by the first matriarch Z’yara, the Lightweaver, who brought the blood moon’s light into the deep caves, protecting the clans during tidefall. Shadowhaven represents salvation and enduring refuge.
Stormhaven: The bare caves of the first ones, said to be spawned from the skyfires of the blood moon. Considered the primordial clan, they sang the very first songs of K’maya. Their essence ties to survival in crucibles and the raw power of volcanic beginnings

T’daya (White Chin)
Daughter of the matriarch T’masi (named Two-spot by Sage Thompson).
A’alla (Maka)
Daughter of the renowned matriarch A’mati (named Melia by Sage Thompson). Taken to Earth, returned after Sage’s death.

N’mati
N’mati (Levi)
The N’mati are relatives of the Nesoi that originated near Riverhaven. Living in the deep pelagic zones and along undersea volcanic arcs, they are a fully sentient marine species, and use sound to hunt their deep sea prey. They hunt spears (mantis squid) and herd smaller deep sea prey to the surface for cooperative feeding with the Nesoi.
M’sana
M’sana (Baleena)
The M’sana are massive, baleen whale-like beings native to Thalassa’s polar seas . They are keepers of deep-time memory. Their songs are multi-layered — one layer for communication, another for emotional resonance, and a deeper one (infrasound) that encodes historical and ecological knowledge.
